Ted Nugent statement about his illegal bear hunt in Alaska

Ted Nugent statement about his illegal bear hunt in Alaska

Below is Ted Nugent’s full statement regarding his guilty plea on Tuesday in Alaska of illegally killing a bear. It’s entitled “Ignorance of the law is no excuse.”

“Not a day goes by where an American outdoorsmen doesn’t confide in me that due to the increasingly complex, illogical hunting and fishing regulations across the nation, that it would not surprise them that they have unintentionally violated a game law at some point in time. Other outdoorsmen routinely express their frustration about regulations that serve no purpose and cannot possibly be explained in terms of wildlife management.

“America is increasingly drowning in just such strange, goofy regulations and requirements. As logic crusader John Stossel recently exposed, our federal government releases roughly 80,000 pages of new regulations each year, confusing, ambiguous, weird illogical regulations that serve no meaningful purpose other than to feebly attempt to justify bureaucracies already off the rails. It’s way past bizarre.

“The ‘you don’t need to read it, you just need to sign it’ health care bill argued before the Supreme Court was almost 2,000 pages long of extraordinarily complex rules and regulations. Sarcastically, Supreme Court Justice Scalia stated that reading the bill was a violation of the 8th Amendment’s (protection against) cruel and unusual punishment clause.

“Regrettably, state hunting regulations have also been ravaged by the over-regulation beast. In Alaska, the hunting regulation book is 128 pages long. Alaska trapping regulation is 48 pages.

I have been hunting many times in my life and I do not have a problem with it. I do think there is something wrong with a person who thinks killing a bear is fun.

Years ago I recall talking to  WWII  veteran who claimed he enjoyed killing Japs, wouldn’t that be worse than killing a threatening species like bears?

Well you have to consider what that mans experiences were leading to that statement. The Japanese didn’t sign the Geneva Convention and they killed many prisoners. Maybe that guy had some friends who received the brutality. I know if I had family and friends who received that treatment I would enjoy it too.

Bears aren’t a threatened species. Talk about criticizing someone for not knowing an obscure game law and then read some of the nitwits on this thread…….  Go ask a Chinese survivor from Shanghai about Japs.

Hunting bear is legal. At issue here is the fact that sport is being over regulated with obscure, confusing and conflicting regulations. If you had read the entire statement you would have realized that. What Mr. Nuggent was unaware of was apparently an unknown, local, new regulation.

Hunting in general is a necessity these days. Back in the 1980’s they made deer hunting illegal for a couple of years around Minneapolis, MN, until they found that due to overpopulation the deer were dropping dead from starvation all over the area.

I have eaten bear meat, it is very fatty and does not taste good. I am a conservative libertarian, I understand hunting for food, but killing a bear for sport is STUPID and Ted should know better, after all he seems so enlightened about other things, you ought to evolve on this on Ted

I’ve eaten bear meat, too and you’re right. It is greasy and I don’t like the taste of it. My Uncle, however loves it! There’s no accounting for taste. If killing a bear for sport helps to control the population, I have no problem with it.

People are never more sincere than when they assume their own superiority.  To liberals who are blindly invested in their own intellectual and moral superiority, the viability of leftist opinions should be self-evident, a convenient defense for those who cannot justify their opinions on the basis of logic, reason, or facts.

Well, atleast he wasn’t a poacher !  .  .  .  Some people hunt for sport AND for meat, but it is set up as a means of population control.  .  .  The rules do get a little confusing, especially when hunting out of state.  .  .  AND btw, I was at the NRA Convention before, during and after Ted made his now famous speech.  .  . I was no more than 10 feet away and heard every word and comment, some that were not even in the video, and I can assure you he made NO threat to O whatsoever. . . . . . GO TED !!!

    I find it interesting;
it is kind of like going to traffic court. A couple of years ago I totaled my
truck in a single car accident; I got a ticket and went to court. There were
about 30 people there ahead of me and I listened as each one had an excuse for
why they got their ticket. They sounded a lot like Ted here. When my turn came
and the judge asked me if I had anything to say, I said, ‘Yes, guilty as
charged.’ The judge had a hard time not laughing but then gave me deferred proc
and I paid the fine and walked out. I was responsible for controlling my
vehicle and failed to do so. Ted was responsible for knowing the laws of where
he was hunting and failed to do so.

    Have we not
heard enough of the ‘It is someone else’s fault’ that we can stop saying it
ourselves? Unfortunately if we check we will find that Adam blamed God and
pointed to Eve; Eve blamed the serpent and the serpent just smiled.  We have always had a tendency to blame
others.  It is very difficult to admit
wrong doing and to be responsible, but we as a society and a nation better
learn how so that we can address the ills of our nation.  Remember we the people are responsible for
those people who represent us and create the crazy laws we are suppose to
obey.  So let us all begin to do the responsible
thing and elect people who have integrity and character rather than nice sound
bites and a nice smile.  Democracy only
    works with an educated electorate.

This is not the complete list; it was taken from the 45 Communist goals that found their way down the halls of our great Capitol back in 1963.

Communist Goals (1963) Congressional Record–Appendix, pp. A34-A35 January 10, 1963 Current Communist Goals EXTENSION OF REMARKS OF HON. A. S. HERLONG, JR. OF FLORIDA IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES Thursday, January 10, 1963 .

    3. Develop the illusion that total disarmament [by] the United States would be a demonstration of moral strength.

    15. Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States.

    26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as “normal, natural, healthy.”

(Leviticus 20:13If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.)

    27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with “social” religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity, which does not need a “religious crutch.”
    30. Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the “common man.”
    31. Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of the “big picture.” Give more emphasis to Russian history since the Communists took over.

Luke 10:18And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
In ancient Hebrew the word for lightning is barack, the word for heaven or the
heights is bama and to connect the words either an “a” or an “o” is used.

“I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.” – Barack Hussein Obama – Audacity of Hope

2 Thessalonians 2:3 (King James Version)
    3Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

Political Correctness a term first seen in Mao’s Little Red Book, a communist engendered abomination that is instituting censorship little by little.

“If the freedom of speech is taken away then dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter.”- George Washington

Carl Marx, once wrote that, the goal of the Communists was to quote,. “enter into men’s minds and cast God down from his throne.”

Matthew 12:31Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

In ancient Babylon their economy was based on usury.
“If you lend money to one of my people among you who is needy, do not be like a moneylender; charge him no interest. Exodus 22:25
Hath given forth upon usury, and hath taken increase: shall he then live? he shall not live: he hath done all these abominations; he shall surely die; his blood shall be upon him. Ezekiel 18:13
Usury is unlawful; expressly prohibited by GOD!
Article 1 Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution clearly states that only the Congress can print and coin money!

The Federal Reserve Act of 1913 was slipped thru congress during the Christmas break with the majority of it’s members absent.

The Federal Reserve is self serving and privately owned in violation to the Constitution, charging interest on illegally printed money. Money printed from nothing!
In America On June 4, 1963, a virtually unknown Presidential decree, Executive Order 11110, was signed with the authority to basically strip the Federal Reserve Bank of its power to loan money to the United States Federal Government at interest. With the stroke of a pen, President Kennedy declared that the privately owned Federal Reserve Bank would soon be out of business. Five months later A UNITED STATES PRESIDENT, PRESIDENT JOHN F. KENNEDY was MURDERED BY COMMUNIST!

Our own US Congress voted themselves a raise. (But vetoed a raise for those on Social Security) A member of Congress only have to be in Congress one time to receive a pension that is more than $15,000 per month. And most are now equal to being millionaires plus.  If some one in the military stays  in for 20 years (providing that they are not killed in combat before that) and gets out as an E-7, they may receive a pension of $2,000 per month, and the very people who placed them in harm’s way receives a pension of $15,000 per month.

In ancient Babylon their priest sacrificed babies to their gods baal, and molech.
In America the communist under their socialist programs have sacrificed over 50 million American babies to their god satan!
    Leviticus 20:2-5
2Again, thou shalt say to the children of Israel , Whosoever he be of the children of Israel , or of the strangers that sojourn in Israel , that giveth any of his seed unto Molech; he shall surely be put to death: the people of the land shall stone him with stones.
3And I will set my face against that man, and will cut him off from among his people; because he hath given of his seed unto Molech, to defile my sanctuary, and to profane my holy name.
4And if the people of the land do any ways hide their eyes from the man, when he giveth of his seed unto Molech, and kill him not:
5Then I will set my face against that man, and against his family, and will cut him off, and all that go a whoring after him, to commit whoredom with Molech, from among their people.
Luke 22:35-36 Then Jesus asked them, “When I sent you without purse, bag or sandals, did you lack anything?” “Nothing,” they answered. 36 He said to them, “But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one.
Jeremiah 50:16Cut off the sower from Babylon, and him that handleth the SICKLE in the time of harvest: for fear of the oppressing sword they shall turn every one to his people, and they shall flee every one to his own land.
Jeremiah 50:23How is the HAMMER OF THE WHOLE EARTH CUT ASUNDER AND BROKEN! how is Babylon become a desolation among the nations!
Jeremiah 50:14 “ Put yourselves in array against Babylon all around, All you who bend the bow; Shoot at her, spare no arrows, For she has sinned against the LORD.

All nations compassed me about: but in the name of the LORD will I destroy them. Psalm 118:10

“The thing that separates the American Christian from every other person on earth is the fact that he would rather die on his feet, than live on his knees!”. George Washington

Jeremiah 48: 10Cursed be he that doeth the work of the LORD deceitfully, and cursed be he that keepeth back his sword from blood.

Revelation 18:21 And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying , Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down , and shall be found no more at all.

Ted Nugent targets bear hunt ban
Last Updated: Sunday, March 7, 1999 | 10:20 PM ET
        CBC News
American rocker Ted Nugent visited Toronto Sunday, despite previously saying he was boycotting visits to Canada. Though he was in Toronto to speak for Canadian Music Week, the real motivation for both the visit and his boycott seemed the same: Ontario’s January cancellation of the bear hunt. Nugent, a gun enthusiast and ardent hunter, slammed the decision. He has speculated that Ontario Natural Resources Minister John Snobelen could be on drugs. Nugent also says animal rights extremists have threatened to kill his children, and recently threw tofu at him in Los Angeles. TOFU POISINING?Nugent’s explanation for such activism is simple. According to him, “they’re all Michael Jackson fans.”

The only real purpose for the Alaska hunting regulations, or regulations anywhere, is a discouragement not to hunt or purchase a gun.  This is what the Communist Marxist perverted left is all about.  If guns were the problem, the over 50 million gun owners in the U. S. could possibily be  witness to over 50 million human deaths caused by radical run away guns.  Think about it!!

      • BLH557

        April 27, 2012 at 8:30 am

Not all hunting laws are set by the state. The most egregious ones are Federal and concern things like ambiguous distances from fields to determine baited areas, lack of intent to hunt over baited areas the hunter has no control over, access or knowledge of and the “ignorance is no excuse” prosecution. There have even been instances where “non-hunters” have intentionally baited areas and called Federal Game Wardens who then arrested and convicted innocent hunters.

See, even those who THINK they know the law are ignorant.

  19. Reinhard Schumann

    April 27, 2012 at 6:25 am

There was a time when hunting was not regulated in the USA at all.  Didn’t take long and there was almost no wild game left.  Bison were almost eradicated, pronghorn antelopes not far from it.  Turkeys gone in most places and the passenger pigeon now extinct.  Conservationists, led by Teddy Roosevelt, turned it around.  Because we now have good hunting laws, most game has rebounded.  Take regulation away and we’ll be back where we were hundred some years ago.
If we would require hunters to learn more about the animals they set out to kill, to include proper identification, we would have less grizzlies shot by mistake and less animals wounded and left to die.  What’s needed is comprehensive hunting education before anybody is allowed to purchase a hunting license.  Would also cut down on people shot by hunters who sometimes shoot at anything that moves.  The adage “shoot first, ask questions later”, applies in a war zone but not when hunting.  There is a good reason why many qualified, dedicated hunters take advantage of bow and arrow seasons so they don’t have to content with idiots running around the woods pretending to be hunters.  Is it too much to ask that hunters know how to identify game and know the open seasons in areas where they hunt?
I hunt and hunt with a passion.

Ted isn’t perfect, and I am sure you aren’t either.  There isn’t anything wrong about people talking about Jesus.  The only thing I hate is the Liberals injecting him into their phylosophy of spreading the wealth.  Jesus said “Pick up your cross and follow me.”  He didn’t say have Joe of there who works harder then you do, do for you. Show me a skinny starving American today, and I’ll show you probably someone who is on drugs. I didn’t sacrifice my life for America, but I am still nothing less of a Patriot. I love my country, and I am proud of what it has come of  this country, and for the world. My family and myself aren’t appologizing for what our country has done like a certain leader we have today.  If I am sorry for anything it’s how soft our government has turn this countries people. What a bunch of me mes.

Then you know that everyone , at least in my state, are required to take a hunter safety course before they can buy a license.  Right now the deer in our state are a problem.  Over regulation has made them killer road obsticals as well as destroying large sections of farm crops. Point, the government is over regulating just as it does everything, especially when you have Liberals running it. I understand your pont about people shooting other people. You aren’t going to stop stupid people from hunting stupidly by over regulating game. Come off you high horse and see the real problems.

I believe most of the Burocrats spend most of their time making up ignorant rules as a way of justifying their positions.  America could get by with less than half of the government employees we now have, most are just a waste of hard earned taxpayer dollars.  We need to size down our government, get rid of a lot of stupid agencies, like TSA, EPA, and many more that hurt Americans more than help them.

If anyone, especially those who made comments about him being a celebrity and “above the law”, had actually READ the article, you might, if you could actually read, have noticed that he is the ONLY PERSON EVER PROSECUTED UNDER THIS LAW. Did you also notice that not a single person involved in the case other than the prosecutor KNEW ABOUT THE LAW??? The fact that he is a celebrity is the sole reason he was prosecuted. Period. Someone was looking for a reason to hit him with a violation. This is the sole reason for a stupid rule like this, likely passed by someone from the HSUSA.

I am personally acquainted with several guides and ranch-owners who have hunted with Ted and, although I don’t know him personally, they have told me that he is one of the most conscientious hunters they have worked with. One guide told me of a goose hunt in which Ted spent over two hours searching for a single goose he had shot. That is dedication. I don’t know about his draft-dodging (seems we had a President who did the same, at one time), I know he’s NOT a POACHER (shows a total lack of intelligence on the part of the “writer”) and you can bet that his celebrity did not get him any leniency… he’s not a lefty. The reason he didn’t have his vehicle, gun, bow or equipment confiscated is that he was prosecuted YEARS AFTER THE INCIDENT. And to those who are totally ignorant of FEDERAL and STATE game laws, unlike normal circumstances, you are NOT innocent until proven guilty. You are guilty whether you are or not.

Ted, with “gatherer’s”(women & blacks) making up more than 70% of our population, what about “fundamental transformation of government” do YOU suppose that our more verbally comprehensive women ALONE who made SELF-ADVOCATED “ANTI-CHRIST”(MARXIST) OBAMA our President were REALLY THINKING? DUH! Welcome to ADAM’S WORLD! Just SAYING! p.s. They’re about to DO IT AGAIN in NOVEMBER TOO. No? Just watch! INTELLIGENCE DOES NOT MEAN “SMART” I SUPPOSE, does it?

Wow killer, you really have a heart. What is wrong with caring about G-d’s creatures?
I bet you like to kick dogs and kids. Grow up a smell the the Teddy, the bear-killer, Nugent.
The stinky little kid down the street throws rocks at the police cars…

How the hell do you equate my high school experiance with loving animals and children over Teddy, the stink-crazy, kid down the block? Do you like the smell of out houses? Teddy, the magic puke, is everything that is wrong with the anti-illuminated, non-science majors of ignorance that find him worthy anything more than a bad scented paper wieght…
