Family of teen armed robber killed in Rockford speaks out

The family of the armed robber killed last Friday in Rockford while robbing jewelry store behind his home has spoken out to the media.

Brandon Pierce was shot dead by an employee, rumored to be the proprietor, of the Jewelry Concepts store around 5pm Friday, November 30th after walking into the store with a handgun and announcing a robbery.

The subsequent investigation found the violent offender to have been armed with a pellet gun that looked like a real pistol.

Mr. Pierce, the aspiring armed robber, quickly found out that bringing a pellet gun to a gunfight is not conducive to a positive outcome for a pellet-gun wielding armed robber facing a law-abiding citizen armed with a real gun and the knowledge, skill and attitudes necessary to use it to defend their lives from predatory criminal attack.

I am truly sorry for the young man’s poor choice to try and rob the jewelry store. Unfortunately, there are consequences for our choices, whether they are bad or good, and sometimes the impact us in ways that should’ve seen coming, but for whatever reason, didn’t see it, or just ignored the obvious. The young man either didn’t have the funds for a real gun and bought the pellet gun to use, or he thought that the pellet gun would garner him a lighter sentence should he be caught. He either didn’t think about the 3rd possibility which was, that someone would believe it was a real firearm and use their own REAL firearm to shoot him with. Most folks facing and unknown weapons that looks like a firearm will not take the time to ask whether or not it is a real firearm, and will do whatever is necessary to protect their own lives. These days far too many criminals are opting to kill or try to kill the witnesses to their crimes, so the owner/employee or even customer in the store would be fully within their rights to use whatever measures they deemed necessary to eliminated or subdue the preceived deadly threat. Again, I am sorry the young man had to loose his life, but the person doing the shooting, did absolutely nothing wrong in using his weapon in the manner in which he did, as far as I can tell from the story above.

I will pray to God for the young hoodlum, it is his fault this happened to him, and it does not matter if it was a pellet gun or bee bee gun, most look real enough. I am sorry for his family, not him.

Father of dead young man :”“We live in a society with laws, we have a police department to handle things,” Pierce said. “My son’s life to them was worth nothing more than a handful of jewelry when their lives weren’t even being threatened. It disgusts me.””

So, using this clown’s logic, if an infection appears to be life threatening perhaps we should wait a couple of days before initiating treatment?

I prayed for the young man , and for the dysfunction his family displays because there are millions more families just like this one in America.

Many pellet guns are powerful enough to kill a human.

I have NO, Nada, Zero sympathy for this teen or his family. Obviously, his parents failed in teaching this kid between right and wrong, as well, this kid had no respect for others or their property. This situation ended exactly as it should have. Kudos to the store owner, we need more outcomes like this. KILL THEM ALL AND LET GOD SORT THEM OUT!

” Obviously, his parents failed in teaching this kid between right and wrong”

Great point, the media always makes the perp sound like a ‘good guy’ AND obviously things began going bad for the robber years before this event.

What’s worse is that an individual was FORCED to shoot this kid, but he will be scrutinized by everyone over and over, especially by the irresponsible family and media.

The Washington Free Beacon has obtained a report soon to be released by the United Nations that calls for an international campaign of legal attacks and economic warfare on a group of American companies that do business in Israel, including Hewlett-Packard, Caterpillar Inc., and Motorola Solutions Inc.

The Human Rights Council (HRC), a body dominated by Islamic countries and known for its hostility to, and heavy focus on, the Jewish State, issued the report. The George W. Bush administration refused to participate in the HRC, but President Barack Obama joined it soon after taking office. Members of the HRC include infamous human rights abusers such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, Libya, China, and Cuba.

This young man’s macho bravado is just a symptom of the gangster culture Black gangsta rap teaches them all they think they need to know. Can’t be a man without a gun in your pocket and you’re entitled to take what you want.

well if the people wont lisson to that crap, and belive it or the parents wont down laws, and teach them to go edc. instead of robing to get what you wont instead of working. NOW OBAMA SAYS , YOU CAN HAVE ANYTHING YOU WONT AND DONT HAVE TO WORK FOR IT. ALL THE STORES HAVE TO DO, IS OPEN THE DOORS AND LET THEM HAVE ANYTHING THEY WONT, AND DONT WORK FOR IT. THIS IS WHAT THEY VOTED FOR. WHEN THERE IS NOTHING ELSE TO STEAL, THEN PEOPLE WILL BECOME SPORT.

Another example of poor decision making in the victim selection process.

I could care less about this kids death or how the parents think its everyone elses fault but theirs for raising a criminal. Dads gonna cry now? Had he not been arrested 9years ago, he might have been able to better teach his own kid. Screw them both. Kudos to the store owner for standing up agianst this crook.

more citizens need to shoot scum like this kid and his pathetic excuse for a father…if we are to take back our country from this depraved thinking it will be law abiding, law respecting armed citizens taking the responsibility of citizenship seriously and not just looking for someone-else or some dept to do the dirty work that keeps society civil….sometimes responsibility is hard, dirty, and painful; none the less, it is necessary.

Uh, his son is robbing a joint, albeit with a fake gun, but did not mention to the store owner that the gun was fake (probably should have when the owner produced a REAL gun) and his father thinks the store owner was in the wrong. Had the father put the son up to this, or did he let the streets raise his child? Why don’t you teach your children that to steal is WRONG and you will suffer the consequences of your choices in life. Maybe the father should consider the fact he failed as a father and is just as much to blame as the son. The store owner and his employees have the right to defend themselves as they were drawn on first…Not vice versa! Keep the old adage – As ye sow, so shall ye reap! – in mind when sending your children out on the streets without teaching them the rules.

He must have been a alumni of the Trayvon Martin’s School for Criminals. Good riddance ex-con Brandon Pierce. He should have stayed in school.
