Did ‘Gun-Free Zone’ Sign at Theater Contribute to Shootings?

The lawyers are now involved in the so-called Batman shootings that took place in Aurora, Colorado. They plan to argue that the theater was negligent when the shooter entered the theater unobstructed and killed 12 and wounded 58 in the July 20th shooting at the Cinemark Century 16 Theater. One of the lawyers investigating a possible suit

“says right now they’re investigating to see if there were any past incidents at the theater and if there should have been more security there. Also in their crosshairs, the mental health professionals suspect James Holmes saw in the past.

“‘Either they did warn, and if they did, who did they warn. And if they failed to warn, should they have warned?’”

I totally agree with both you and USMCBLACKOPS. I am an Army Viet vet from the 199th light infantry Brigade witrh whom I served in 68′-69 and though I had been a hunter and gun advocate as a youth, never handled a firearm from 1969 until June 3rd of THIS year whereupon after having taken a month long trip up and down the East Coast from MA to FL and back, I decided it was the prudent thing to do to get a Class A License to carry and to purchase a handgun and refurbish the weapons of my youth. Never in my lifetime have I seen the people of this country purchasing the guns and ammo they feel are incumbent on them to purchase for their own protection and, when you ask them why, They will tell you from Racial attacks inspired by their own government and possibly to be carried out by Government agencies and unions! This is not the country for which we fought but, ,if need be, I will again ; EVEN THOUGH I AM AGENT ORANGE DISABLED AT 67 AND A SURVIVOR OF STROKES, HEART ATTACKS, DIABETES,GOUT, CELLULITIS, CANCER, CHRONIC HIGH CHOLESTEROL AND BP AND A CLASS 3 HEARTBLOCK WHILE ON A TREADMILL IN A HEALTH CLUB WHICH REQUIRED A PACEMAKER INSTALLATION.! Because I have a 92 year old mother dependent on me, I cannot make the correct preparations , especially not in heavily settled Eastern Massachusetts ; but, I have a contingency plan If I can implement it for the Mountains surrounding Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley ,with which I am terrain and defensive postion familiar. Whatever happens, happens but, when the time comes, I WILL TAKE A TOLL WITH ME AND I WILLVOTE. NOTHING WILL STOP ME EITHER!

I’m a 73 year old disabled vet an I’ll be right there with you. Thank you, all of you. It is us you know that will save this great nation and I suspect she may have to be saved. Stay prepared. Hope and pray for the best, be ready for the worst! Keep thinking about your experience, you may have to rely on it again.

I pray you are right about us all being paranoid but the indications that none of us are, are plain enough. I truly hope we have not sunk so low or been so compromised that our own military will be complicit in attacking American citizens. It would NEVER have happened in our youth; now, I am not so sure.

“Gun Free Zone” = “Free Fire Zone”

    September 14, 2012 at 12:36 am

Kill Zone would now more aptly describe the idiocy of gun free..the right to carry may have made all the difference in the world…
