Almost 90,000 Guns and Magazines Voluntarily Registered in Connecticut

It looks like over 50,000 firearms were registered and nearly 40,000 magazines that hold over 10 rounds were also registered.

The final counts of guns and standard capacity magazines that were voluntarily registered in Connecticut prior to this month’s deadline is starting to take shape.

It looks like over 50,000 firearms were registered and nearly 40,000 magazines that hold over 10 rounds were also registered.

Residents who failed to register these devices could face a $90 fine and a misdemeanor for the fist offense. The second offense could be considered a felony and punishable by a $5,000 fine and up to 5 years in prison.

According to CT News Junkie,

On Friday, Scott DeVico, a legislative program manager and spokesman for the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection, said hand counts indicate that gun owners registered 50,016 assault weapons and declared 38,290 ammunition magazines.
