Reward offered to find man who shot dog: Regional hunting, fishing group has raised $350

Outrageous!

Glenn Brown said he was horrified when he read the story about Chris Mickelsen, whose hunting dog, Gunner, was shot and killed by an unidentified man Sunday near Springfield and Brown believed he could do something to help find the person who did it.

Brown, from Sisters, Ore., is a member of ifish.net, a regional hunting and fishing website organization. When he read the story in Friday’s Journal, he sent a shout-out to group members and launched a reward fund for information leading to the individual responsible for shooting Gunner, a 7-year-old golden Labrador.

“Those of us that have dogs just cringed when we read this story,” Brown said. “We wanted to help and I’m sure that somebody out there knows who did this.”
