The opening of Cape Fear Arsenal in Lumberton, NC, was just recently announced in May by Governor Pat McCrory, promising to bring 150 jobs to the area.
The company will invest more than $15.2 million over the next three years in ammunition-manufacturing related jobs, and is already on the fast track to production.
Cape Fear Arsenal will begin producing desperately-needed .223 Remington ammunition in July, and will begin selling it via commercial sales channels and an e-commerce application on their web site, http://cfarsenal.com/ in August.
The company expects to produce 2 million .223 cartridges/month. The cartridges will feature 62-grain FMJ bullets in factory-new brass cases.
