Joe the Plumber Releases PSA On Bullying

The federal government spends millions of dollars every year to address the problem of bullying in schools. Joe the Plumber agrees that bullying must be addressed, but believes that real solutions should raise the level of self respect for the victim. To this end, Joe has produced the following public service announcement to help governments, schools, and kids take bullying head-on. A video of the announcement can be found here:

Wurzelbacher released the following statement on the announcement:

“I have a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to bullies. If a kid is being bullied at school, my advice to them is to punch the bully in the face. The government can create as many boards, commissions, and informational sessions on sensitivity that it wants. The fact is, we still have bullies, and we still have victims who are trained not to stand up for themselves. In a time of fiscal crisis, it is low cost, effective policies like these that will turn this country around.”

Love it! Always told my son the nose bleeds really easy. Draw blood first swing & the fights over!

One of my sons was bullied in elementary school by a cousin of his, when he came home in tears i told him the same thing as in your PSA Joe . . . when he said he could not do that I replied then don’t come home crying to me about it because the one thing bullies absolutely can not stand is to see their own blood. Strange thing about it, the cousins are now friends, go figure . . .

I grew up on a farm with my older uncles picking on me (they were kids too) but learned early not to be afraid to strike back; actually, I had no other choice. When I later moved to CA and kids at school picked on me, they did it just once. In a few months the boys were daring the other boys to pick a fight with me…oh ya, I’m a girl.
