A Response To Someone’s Comments On Gun Control

Okay, Tad, there are several problems with your post.

First, your comment about “weapons of easy mass murder (like machine guns and rocket launchers) “.

The statement is nonsensical, and doesn’t apply to common household guns. I could respond with “no one is talking about legalizing rocket launchers, this is an argument you’re only having with yourself.” Except that I AM trying to reduce the restrictions on rocket launchers and machine guns. I’ll be honest. However, your statement shows you really don’t know much about machine guns. In fact, I’d venture to guess TV provides most of your information about them.

Point of fact, I have a Browning 1919A4 conversion. It weighs 33 lbs. It’s tripod mounted. I can fire 400 rounds in a minute, but it will cost me $200 in ammo to do so. No one is using these for crime, nor will they ever.

nothing wrong with explosive and high power defense items. only there must be responsible people. In a country of “peter griffin, family guys”, homer simpsons, and american dads. well you get the picture. maybe if all these were gone, then it might be a safe responsible world.

Gun Control, hitting what you aim at.

Fishing is a violent sport ? Or is Political Correctness simply out of control ? Gregg

I ment that as a compliment

Nice weapon. I like my M60 modified with ceramic barrel. Fire it for a hour and it will not get hot. Ah for the days when we had real money for real weapons. Now they are stuck with a modified FNFL Minime called the saws in .223

A well regulated Malitia being neccessary for the protection of the State, the Right to keep and bear arm’s shall not be Infringed. George Washington’s take on that was the people have the absolute right and must have access to the same weaponry that is in common use by the standing Army of the Republic. If I could afford some rocket launcher’s a belt feed m60 or .50 cal I certainly would own such along with Grenades, C$ and anti personel mines and devices. We existed as a Republic for over 150 yr’s without Gun Laws in the last 100 yrs we have now come to the ultimate goal Registration and Confiscation

Before they start here, let them go over to Benghazi ad take that RPG from the guys who destroyed the embassy.

  • wminaz

The public and the press need to ask any politician putting forth gun control legislation – where in the country has any such measure worked ?

    • Steve Harper

maybe the question should be just where do you think you can hide your treasonous ass

  • servant1jkb

    1. Take a safety course
    2. know how to handle and hold your gun (s).
3.Make sure it’s loaded, [an empty gun a poor club makes.]
    4. Go, often to the range, and learn how to gain your sight picture quickly and on target.
    5. At least once each range trip, use instinct aiming from the hip, focus eyes on target and fire.
    6. Never, ever shoot an intruder in the back, just shout, “Heh You,” and when they turn to look at you shoot!
    6. Why?
Your life and mine is just as valuable as any one’s life, especially if they intend to do you harm.

Why do the Progressive Liberals not agree?
They are still evolutionists, and have accepted they are a relative of the apes, thus we all are still evolving! Little do they know nor think about just how is it that this dead stuff, came to life, all by itself!

Yet if you buy the latter part, you have been deceived, because it is all about CONTROL! As long as most of us have guns, they know they can NOT. . . . fully control us!
What other reason is there for GRANNY Bloomberg’s thinking to limit what we drink and amounts?
Are we or are we no longer the “LAND OF THE FREE?”

It did not bother the Founders, at all, that in their time the citizens were better armed than the government. It was true, particularly in the South and on the frontier, that citizens were carrying rifles that were deadly at 250-300 yards. The government equipped soldiers with smoothbore muskets effective at
    only 50-75 yards.
The reason this did not disturb the Founders is that they created a government answerable to the citizens.
Politicians have been trying to pervert that government ever since.

Appreciate the post … from a fellow “Sky Soldier”… 11th Air Assault Division (Test), Ft. Benning, GA 1963-1964. Thanks!

        Your service is appreciated guys.

    • aeronca7acnc85057

When we stood in lines sholder to sholder a few yards apart and fired at each other with smooth bore muskets it did not matter if you hit the man in front of you or three men to the right.

When the Brits came South during the latter part of the Revolution, they found they had to change that “shoulder-to-shoulder’ business; they were getting the crap shot out of them.

        • aeronca7acnc85057

Just as sure as a gun has hindsights. We changed the face of war forever

  • horseridingplains

Gun control=populace control= ability to become dictator with buffons as backdrop

  • Sky Soldier

The “Tad” comment and appropriate push back response indicates the level of insanity in the American socialist left. Most people should know that even a “machine gun” is NOT a weapon of mass destructioin…which is known to be chemical, biological, nuclear, airplanes into large commercial buildings, or other types of mass murder destructive devices.

  • spyderdalton

The 2nd amendment is the civil rights issue of our times. Self defense should be a right in any civilized society.
Decent law abiding citizens are being attcked as though they are criminals presumed dangerous without due process. This is the end of America as we once knew her.

  • spyderdalton

These are the people trying to take your guns… It didn’t work well for Germany!

These people are mentally ill and extremely dangerous! The following precautions will help to protect you from the destructive acts of which they are capable.

First, to recognize them, keep the following guidelines in mind.

    (1) They are habitual liars. They seem incapable of either knowing or telling the truth about anything.

    (2) They are egotistical to the point of narcissism. They really believe they are set apart from the rest of humanity by some special grace.

    (3) They scapegoat; they are incapable of either having the insight or willingness to accept responsibility for anything they do. Whatever the problem, it is always someone else’s fault.

    (4) They are remorselessly vindictive when thwarted or exposed.

    (5) Genuine religious, moral, or other values play no part in their lives. They have no empathy for others and are capable of violence. Under older psychological terminology, they fall into the category of psychopath or sociopath, but unlike the typical psychopath, their behavior is masked by a superficial social facade.

If you have come into conflict with such a person or persons, do the following immediately!

    (1) Notify your friends and relatives of what has happened.

Do not be vague. Name names, and specify dates and circumstances. Identify witnesses if possible and provide supporting documentation if any is available.

    (2) Inform the police. The police will do nothing with this information except to keep it on file, since they are powerless to act until a crime has been committed. Unfortunately, that often is usually too late for the victim. Nevertheless, place the information in their hands.

Obviously, if you are assaulted or threatened before witnesses, you can get a restraining order, but those are palliative at best.

    (3) Local law enforcement agencies are usually under pressure if wealthy or politically powerful individuals are involved, so include state and federal agencies as well and tell the locals that you have. In my own experience, one agency that can help in a pinch is the Criminal Investigation Division of the Internal Revenue Service or (in Canada) Victims Services at your local police unit. It is not easy to think of the IRS as a potential friend, but a Swedish study showed that malignant types (the Swedes called them bullies) usually commit some felony or other by the age of twenty. If the family is wealthy, the fact may never come to light, but many felonies involve tax evasion, and in such cases, the IRS is interested indeed. If large amounts of money are involved, the IRS may solve all your problems for you. For obvious reasons the Drug Enforcement Agency may also be an appropriate agency to approach. The FBI is an important agency to contact, because although the FBI does not have jurisdiction over murder or assault, if informed, they do have an active interest in any other law enforcement agencies that do not follow through with an honest investigation and prosecution should a murder occur. Civil rights are involved at that point. No local crooked lawyer, judge, or corrupt police official wants to be within a country mile if that comes to light! It is in such cases that wealthy psychopaths discover just how firm the “friends” they count on to cover up for them really are! Even some of the drug cartel biggies will scuttle for cover if someone picks up the brick their thugs hide under. Exposure is bad for business.

    (4) Make sure that several of your friends have the information in the event something happens to you. That way, an appropriate investigation will follow if you are harmed. Don’t tell other people who has the information, because then something bad could happen to them as well. Instruct friends to take such an incident to the newspapers and other media.

If you are dealing with someone who has considerable money, you must realize that they probably won’t try to harm you themselves, they will contract with someone to make the hit. The malignant type is a coward and will not expose himself or herself to personal danger if he or she can avoid it.

Ha, Tad’s posts got him a spotlight which I believe is what he wanted. He antagonizes the pro-gun to a frazzle. I’ve read his posts and he gets a reaction like no other. I think he just sits back and laughs at our outrage on the subject. Not a nice fellow.

  • vanguard7

I keep seeing the headline for this article and this page has been the furthest I’ve gotten. When I’ve clicked on the “continue reading…” link at the bottom it always takes me to the same page that doesn’t follow or make sense to the article. That is, until today, when I clicked on the header or title for the page and then it took me to the actual rebuttal to Tad’s apparent totally ill-informed post. I thought it might help to post the url of the actual rebuttal here in case others were experiencing the same frustration I’ve been having over the past week or so.

And by the way, the rebuttal is priceless! Michael W. is truly an educated and prolific writer in his response to Tad. Thanks Michael for the excellent post. Now if we could just get all the anti-gun (freedom/America/Constitution-hating) zealots on the left to see the light and help them to wake up and see they stand to lose more than their freedoms if they are allowed to win this battle. At some point they WILL SEE the error of their ways. Unfortunately, it may not be until after we have lost everything that our founding fathers and their brothers in arms fought so hard for to begin with….A country free of tyranny.

According to the Supreme Court, although not the final say over the people and states, the Second Amendment (United States v. Miller, 307 U. S. 174 ), does not limit the right to keep and bear arms to militia purposes, but rather limits the type of weapon to which the right applies to those used by the militia, i.e., those in common use for lawful purposes.”
