MSNBC’s Toure: If Newtown Shooter Killed Black Kids We Probably Wouldn’t Be Talking About Guns

MSNBC’s Toure Neblett made an extremely controversial statement on Friday’s The Cycle.

“If Adam Lanza had walked into a black public school in this mythical South Brooklyn or in the Southside of Chicago, we would probably not be having a sustained national conversation about guns” (video follows with transcript and commentary):

TOURE NEBLETT: Perhaps we know Wayne LaPierre is wrong about good guys and bad guys and guns. I’m sure many of us find him hard to trust given his obvious use of racial demonization to spread fear that will lead to buying guns. In his recent editorial in the Daily Caller, he spoke of supposedly rampant crime and murder in some place he called South Brooklyn in the days after Hurricane Sandy. Put aside that no reporting bears that out, I live in Brooklyn, and I have for a long time, and there is no place referred to as South Brooklyn. But I think it’s safe to say that when he says that, much of the country envisions a place clogged with black people.

        This idiot should take note, the only ones that seem to be out and hunting as evidenced in Chicago where in 2012 there was 513 murders and 451 of the murderers are black as is their victims; this same senario also seen in Detroit, Philidelphia, New York, Atlanta, Trenton, Brooklyn, Pittsburgh, and the list goes on and on and on in all the big cities including Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, Portland and Seattle their is an ethnic component to all this crime. Deal with it! Yet, here is a black fanning racial hatred and acting arrogant and absolutely ignoring the truth. A much more likely senario if the Newtown shooter had gone to a black school in Chicago the students there would have shot him dead within seconds and there wouldn’t have been any mass murders. And if you can imagine that situation can you imagine how many guns used in the Chicago murders by blacks were obtained illegally and none of the required and appropriate paper work was documented. If all those black murderers didn’t follow the law and bypassed all the government paper work and background checks – I want the equality promised in our Bill of Rights, The Constitution and the Amendments.- fair is fair, if I were to get a firearm I don’t want to register it, do the background checks and I don’t want to filled out all the stupid forms the government want me to fill out. After all where is my right to privacy and my right to purchase anything I want?

Tell me again the race of the Aurora shooter? Lanza in CT? McVeigh (I know, a bomb, but still – man killed so many precious children), and right here in my home state – the Northern IL Univ shooter? All white, no “bangers”. As a matter of fact, I’m pretty sure that the gang members are confused when they get mentioned in any kind of story about a shooting massacre.         America occurs in the 50 largest cities; these cities also have the strictest
        gun laws.

        most of whom are male.

        The reason that the murders and murder rates in predominantly black cities and by predominantly black shooters is because these statistics would immediately refute the liberals stance on the need for gun control and gun confiscation.

    How does MSNBC find these so called reporters? Do they set back and see who is rejected by every other News group? Do they think that by playing the racist remarks everytime something happens, it’s going to improve their ratings? It doesn’t matter what race the child is that is murdered, shot, raped, molested or whatever, it is a tragedy. Suppose every firearm in the United States was turned in and destroyed, would that prevent a murder or someone being hurt? No, that individual would just find another means to carry out his plan. Would more laws on firearms prevent a death or injury? No, the laws we have on the books right now would prevent most acts of violence from occurring. The problem is, the existing laws are not enforced. What would new laws and weapon bans do? Absolutely nothing except punish the law abiding citizen. Those who have a criminal intent or have mental issues are still going to have weapons and still do their thing. And the rest of us are going to set here, let it happen and listen to a bunch of so-called reporters tell us we are all racists. That is easier to do than dig into the story and find out what happened and why.

    WTH? Are these people crazy? What difference does it make whether a child is black, white, brown, yellow or whatever, they’re still human and a life is a life. Our second Amendment should always be protected. #1) Criminals will always have weapons #2) Guns are also to protect us against tyranny #3) There will always be mental deviates and we should be concerned with medications that are being prescribed to those that have mental challenges, whether it be ADD or brought on by self induced drugs.
    For anyone to make such an outlandish statement is only encouraging racial division. You, sir, are part of the problem, because you’re sure not helping with solutions.

    This story, (Sandy Hook) is already full of falsehoods, all this talk of banning Assault rifles because they were used in the murders is not true. Further investigation into the incident, as reported by the local Sheriff’s and, State Police Departments, show that although there was an assault rifle brought to the parking lot of the school by Lanza, he left it in the vehicle. No RIFLE was ever brought into the school with him. Lanza was found dead in the school with four guns, and lots of ammo.
    Amazing how the Obama continues, to never let a tragic incident such as this, go to waste to further his gun grabbing agenda.

    Well, let’s just look at the facts. Young blacks kill each other every weekend in every big city in the country, adding up to hundreds each year in each city. It usually makes the news – it is reported. Since Sandy Hook, there has been a lot of news about guns and violence, and a lot of hot air and posturing by politicians. Joe Biden headed up a task farce (ok, that was a typo but I decided to leave it) on reducing gun violence, and came up with a long list of proposed actions. Not once in the news, nor in all the sage oration by all our politicians, nor in Joe’s fix-it list is there any mention, ever, of the inner city violence and gang murders that drive gun violence and murder statistics. And don’t forget operation “Fast and Furious”. Our HSA published a profile for terrorists which includes such key points as: ex-military; belief in the constitution, belief in the bible, distrust of government….

    Those are the facts, now for my opinion. It’s clear who they are concentrating on disarming, and it isn’t the criminals. Criminals feed their agenda, which is to disarm patriots and law-abiding citizens. Law-abiding includes the supreme law of the land, the Constitution. They have trashed it, so they are not law-abiding.

    He is correct, if congress REALLY cared about gun violence there would be an all out assault on gangs in America, 9.6 murders of black kids per WEEK in Chicago alone.
