More Firearm Makers Boycott Anti-Gun City and State Governments

Posted on: February 14th, 2013

Liberty-minded firearm companies concerned about recent assaults on the gun rights of law-abiding citizens by Obama and others are taking action to defend the Second Amendment even if it means lost revenue, with several major firms announcing that they would no longer be supplying equipment to hostile state and local governments or their police forces. Both New York and California — where out-of-touch politicians continue to trample on citizens’ constitutionally guaranteed right to keep and bear arms — have become primary targets. Activists and the companies are urging others to join the effort against more gun control now.

Among the manufacturers that have publicly announced their plans to prohibit sales to anti-Second Amendment authorities so far are LaRue Tactical, Olympic Arms, Extreme Firepower (EFI, LLC), and Barrett Firearms. All four firms, in solidarity with citizens in jurisdictions victimized by a lawless political class that refuses to uphold the Constitution, have expressed strong support for Americans’ unalienable rights. Gun rights activists nationwide rushed to celebrate the companies’ valor.

If citizens cannot purchase certain guns or accessories in places such as California, Chicago, or New York, then authorities cannot either, the companies essentially announced. In a press release posted online on Tuesday praising the Constitution and Bill of Rights, Olympic Arms President Brian Schuetz urged all firearm manufacturers to join the boycott effort, saying that they should stand together to repel politicians’ hostile assaults on the rights of citizens.

Great idea and if we all stick together with one voice we can beat them.

Leave the places that will give you problems until you might be forced to declare bankruptcy. Texas, Arizona and of course Michigan would welcome good people and good business.

Got some news for you with Texas. I am from Alaska and have been hunting in Texas this winter and last winter. I went to Acadamy Sports and they would not sell me a .22 rifle. I then went to Wheeler sports and feed in Boerne and they said the ATF said they couldn’t sell me a .22 I then went to Walmart in Boerne and they would sell me a .22 if they had one. I told Wheeler that Walmart says they will and can sell me a .22 if they had one. Wheeler said their agent at ATF said no way before. So I called ATF and talked to a Special Agent there. He said he didn’t think there was anything wrong in selling me a long gun but he would check and get back to me. This morning he called me and said he could not find any law that it was illegal for a gun dealer to sell me a long gun. I called Wheeler and told them what the ATF agent told me but they would not budge or call there ATF agent. So it looks like some ATF agents tell different stories to different businesses probably because they don’t know themselves. Walmart had a picture of the USA and every state in green was able to buy a gun in Texas. 11 states were off limits. I found a .22 at another Walmart and tomorrow I will go there and buy my .22
From what I remember they were mostly liberal states. So I am now going to boycott Wheller Feed in Boerne and Academy Sports in San Marcos. I hope others do the same.

I think that the real problem is that because there is no leadership (the empty chair principle) that they have no guidance and really have no idea what they are doing. It reminds me of a ranch in Texas a few years back.

  • wyatt81

The left will push as far as they are allowed-just like the bullies they are. Keep pushing back on the pasty faced politicians and their low info supporters.

  • polmutant

such a small wee territory is washington district of communists. perhaps it is time for a parking lot there.

    • Greggie

      Long overdue. Pack!

    • Dave

A crater would suit me fine.

  • http://www.facebook.com/ken.cariker Ken Cariker

I believe all the gun and ammo manufacturers need to move to Texas. They will find a very large and friendly market here.

  • Doc

We keep saying, “move to Texas” We love weapons manufacturers.

  • http://twitter.com/DustyFae StarDust Dolittle

Great idea, let them have their cake and eat it too.

  • old_msg

Since the Federal Government is behind all this maybe the firearms manufacturers should refuse r to sell to U.S. government agencies? Perhaps even the military, but especally Home land security(Obama’s private army)

  • marineh2ominer

There are becoming quit a few places in this country that I would not be upset if a foreign nation or terrorists nuked . Nor would they have to fear wimp Imam obamass , our communist , and I use this term loosely , leader .

  • Gulfcoast Gunner

Its good to finally have some support in the way of boycotts and such. For far too long have the politicians gotten their way. Whatever happened to the days of a politician serving for a few years then going home to their REAL jobs? Why are they permitted to do mediocre jobs and still be compensated for it? Why are THEY allowed to vote on THEIR own raises? Shouldn’t the American people say who is doing well enough to get an increase? In any caseI hope more manufacturers will follow suit or risk losing customers.

  • OldDocBen

Finally, men of courage. Barrett is no surprise and we all welcome LaRue and the others but we need the real ammo suppliers like Black Hills, Remington, and Winchester to join in. Sadly I have my doubts but if they hear from US they might see OUR point; especially if we appeal to their profit margins. Write, call, and email every ammo maker and supplier. Drop some letters to Colt, Glock, Smith & Wesson, Armalite, Daniel Defense, and the many other manufacturers. Remember, there is no real cost difference to send one hundred emails vs one. While you are at the keyboard let your congressman and senator know their futures in politics depends on their respect for the Constitution.

  • Dr D

I guess my next firearm will be from: LaRue Tactical, Olympic Arms, Extreme Firepower, or Barrett Firearms.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=803619553 Valerie Eisner

How about one or more from each of them?

  • Fred_K

Bullet manfacturers should boycott the federal government, and only sell to individuals.

    • Jim

Good thinking. I also believe that they to relinquish their surplus of ammo to the local and state authorities. They have no use for over a billion rounds of ammunition and another 1.5 million on the way. That’s enough to kill every American 5 times over and have a surplus besides. When it comes to trust, they haven’t earned it. When it comes to believing they won’t harm Americans with this surplus of ammo, well, I wasn’t born yesterday. Tell FEMA to stop delivering bulk plastic coffins to urban areas across our country and I’ll stop telling everyone I know, the Govnt isn’t trying to rob us of our inalienable rights. They are expecting riots on a nation wide level…Why else would they be preparing for this type of body cleanse and clean-up? Just remember, it isn’t a conspiracy when the evidence proves otherwise.

YAY!! We need to cut Washington’s gestapo off at the head. It is the best way to kill a snake.

  • worldwatchman

“Thank You” for standing up for us…We The People. Thank you all. I hope this starts a snowball and those who sell the ammunition stop selling to them as well. Maybe this why they are buying up millions of rounds and new weapons. They knew what you manufacturers were going to do for us, the law abiding American citizen. Again, if you do read this…we’re most grateful for taking a sound stand for us, for the Constitution of the United States.

  • dfrwow

Someone needs to get the firearms companys, and even more so, the ammunition companies to keep them from selling anything to the government agencies. Right now, they’re our worst enemy.

  • 2War Abn Vet

    It’s a good start.

  • Silver4

Would it not be great if ALL weapons and ammo manufacturers prohibit sales to every state government that puts these anti-gun bills in place. Also have all buyers,no matter who, sign a agreement or contract that they will not resale these products to the states in question.

  • mickey

Wouldn’t it be nice, if all Gun, and Ammo manufactureres would stop all sales to the government, and rogue police forces? This would surely slow them down. These rogue agencies, until now have had the green light, to trample on our rights, through our rogue/radical government under the Super RADICAL Muslim/Obama.

  • John Paul Jones

Maybe North Korea has the right idea to fire at washington D.C. they would be doing us a big favor and toast these ass-clowns

  • nonstopca

I will only do business with companies that sign on to these idles……

  • http://twitter.com/PaladinFirearms PaladinFirearms

We need Smith and Wesson and Glock to join them. When the police on the streets suddenly find themselves out gunned when facing criminals, you’ll see the cities reverse their positions.

Then again if the politicians don’t care about the safety of the civilian population, why should they care about the safety of the police officers.

    • dad666

Add ruger to the list and then go for all the other manufacturers and Supliers as well

    • tyler520

It would be nice to think that the ‘big ones’ would do it, but they are too entrenched in the bureaucracy – their higher-ups won’t sacrifice

    • garysvent

They will only care when they call the police and get no answer. They keep telling us that without vast tax increases they will have to fire policemen. Eventually, they will run out of people to fire in attempts to extort tax dollars, and the lack of police protection — which is, by the way, the primary job of government — will be brought home to their own doorstep.

If we can’t change our corrupt politicians at the polls, then the only recourse is to change the minds of the voters that keep putting them back in office. Doing it this way can be very effective, and bringing more people on board with your example is inevitable.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/OOKK3KBK7M2DX5OKOV7ODZ3QTA Jay

Now if they only can get Glock, Colt, Armalite, etc. to go along with it.

    • Michael Clouser

      and MidwayUSA and Brownells too.

  • Watchdogman

Come on Remington, Ruger, Winchester, Mossberg, etc…Cease doing business with any government agency that tries to demonize the second amendment and the American citizens…

  • 63Marine

I don’t need to buy ammo but, I DO want a .50 Barrett. ALL ammo companies need to get on the “Band Wagon” and refuse to sell to the government regardless of the amount they want. All the government will do is turn around and use it on us Americans when we throw obutthead out of office.

  • http://www.facebook.com/roy.pyle3 Roy Pyle

Thank all of you for standing up for us little guys, the next time I buy a firearm it will come from one of the companies listed here, now if we could make the rest of America to wake up and stand as one to stomp out the libs and get back to good old family values.

  • http://www.facebook.com/Indyboo Brian Powers

Magpul should be on that list as well.

  • http://www.facebook.com/robert.choiniere.3 Robert Choiniere

Sounds like reverse logic to me, If citizens cannot purchase certain guns or accessories in places such
as California, Chicago, or New York, then authorities cannot either, the
companies essentially announced. In a press release posted online on
Tuesday praising the Constitution and Bill of Rights, Olympic Arms
President Brian Schuetz urged all firearm manufacturers to join the
boycott effort, saying that they should stand together to repel
politicians’ hostile assaults on the rights of citizens.
So in other words the Government still gets what they want…….Citizens still can not purchase guns they should be allowed to purchase…!!

  • lee

Look up the word communist then remember what Obama said, redistrabution, along with other words is to be communist.

  • mickey

The Feds will get all the ammo, & supplies they want, didn’t you know that George Soros(Obamas Friend) own a big arms supply company.
