Mississippi bow hunter scores big buck and state record
As most Mississippi hunters know, conditions for deer hunting in the Magnolia State are rarely perfect, but as the old saying goes, you definitely aren’t going to see one if you stay at the house.
Nov. 11 was one of those not-so-good days, but Kevin Medlin of Olive Branch wasn’t about to let that stop him. It was his first opportunity to hunt a stand he had put up nearly two weeks before.
Turns out, it was one of the best decisions he’s ever made.
“It wasn’t an ideal hunting day. It was about 60 degrees,” said Medlin. “But I had a south wind and I knew that was the stand I was hunting.”
