Biden pitches gun control as part of larger effort to lessen ‘coarsity of American culture’

Vice President Joe Biden said Thursday that the administration will continue to prioritize dealing with gun violence, casting it as an issue not just of protecting the public from mass shootings like Newtown, but of recasting American culture in a way that would affect everything down to the economy.

Addressing the United States Conference of Mayors at their winter meeting here, Biden focused on the gun recommendations that he had provided to President Barack Obama earlier this week, which the president formally recommended to Congress on Wednesday.

“I know you’ve come to talk about a broad range of very important issues that you’re facing in your cities and towns … but I didn’t come here to talk about any of those important subjects today because as important as they all are, today we have a more urgent and immediate call, and that is how to deal with the epidemic of gun violence in America,” Biden said.

      I heard on the news that Obama’s Libya revolution has now caused several more Al Qaida uprisings in Africa. There are a lot of weapons now in the hands of Al Qaida. We have suspected that the murders of the Ambasador in Libya was because he was there to get back the weapons that they had gotten from the US and Al Qaida didn’t think it was a good idea to give them back.

    Those who argue that the Second Amendment was written just for militias are

    in government.” – Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334 (C. J. Boyd, Ed.,

    James Madison is credited with the writing of the “Bill of Rights” and was
    pretty clear about the meaning on the Second Amendment.

    “The Constitution preserves the advantage of being armed which Americans
    possess over the people of almost every other nation where the governments are
    afraid to trust the “PEOPLE” (My emphasis) with arms.”

    Here are a few others who help define the true meaning of the Second Amendment.
    It becomes very clear upon the examination of the meanings attached to the
    Second Amendment by our Founding Fathers that the original intent of the Second
    Amendment is being attacked in order to eventually disarm the American people.

    ***”I ask, sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people, except for a
    few public officials.”

    George Mason, in Debates in Virginia Convention on Ratification of the

    Then there are politicians who insist in taking our Constitution out of context
    of time and original meaning. Once again, James Madison warned us against this.

    “Do not separate text from historical background. If you do, you will have
    perverted and subverted the Constitution, which can only end in a distorted,
    bastardized form of illegitimate government.”

    Second Amendment:

    “A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the
    right of the people to KEEP and BEAR arms, shall not be INFRINDGED.”

    Arms, in the context and time when our Constitution was written meant the usual
    arms carried by militia members, everyday citizens or light infantry in the
    Continental Army. Many of these arms were supplied by their owners for militia
    duty and were personal weapons initially used for hunting or home defense. They
    came in all types and calibers; from a 30 cal. squirrel rifle to a 75 cal.
    smooth bore musket, pistols and shotguns of all types, calibers and gauges.
    They also included a huge variety of other arms including: knives of every
    conceivable shape and size, bayonets and swords. Many early citizens also
    carried tomahawks.

    Attempts to control the type and or caliber of arms Americans’ can possess are
    absolutely against The Constitution and the Second Amendment as it was written
    and intended. By the supreme law of the land (The Constitution), an American
    citizen should be able to keep and bear any weapon now used individually by our
    light infantry soldiers.

    Larger weapons such as cannon and mortars that could not be carried by an
    individual soldier or required more than one person to operate were considered
    to be “ordinance” and were not defined as “arms”.

    Words have meanings! If those meanings are bastardized all becomes chaos.

    Definition of to KEEP: to hold or retain in one’s possession; hold as one’s

    Definition of to BEAR: to carry, transmit, transport, have a characteristic of

    Definition of INFRINGE: to “encroach” upon in a way that violates law or the
    rights of another.

    THIS IS THE WORD MOST FORGETEN……INFRINGE!!!!! Read the meaning!!!

    Definition of INFRINGE/ENCROACH…….. 1: to enter by gradual steps or by stealth
    into the possessions or rights of another. 2: to advance beyond the usual or
    proper limits

    Why is this so hard to understand? The meanings of the words in the Second
    Amendment have not changed since the amendment was ratified.

    I am not aware of the Second Amendment being repealed or amended.

    In reference to arms control by the states; the Fourteenth Amendment Section
    .1. is crystal clear.

    Section. 1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to
    the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State
    wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge
    the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; (My emphasis)
    nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without
    due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal
    protection of the laws.

    Many in politics from the legislative, administrative branches and or judges
    cite “precedent” as a justification for the violations of our rights as
    guaranteed in The Constitution of These United States of America. Precedent
    only describes what has been done and gotten away with, not if it was done in
    compliance with the supreme law of the land or in accordance with the oath of
    office to uphold The Constitution.

    What epidemic? There are more people killed by hammers and clubs that firearms. But they do not want to talk about that. It does not help their agenda. Obama has just made his dream come true. He has always been against people owning guns. He said that even before he became a Senator. He just waited for the right opportunity to come along. Sadly it was the death of some young children that he took advantage of. How come none of you see that?

    Hey, Joe, if you really want to lesson the coarseness of American culture, start with your union buddy thugs who talk about taking people out with whom they disagree, with your fellow Democrats who so often forget to “keep it civil,” like your boss Obumbles calls for, and who call people Hitler and terrorists and racist at the drop of a hat just because they have a different point of view, and end with your limo liberal contributors in Hollyweird who make millions off of guts and guns movies, the video gamers who make “killing” ever more realistic and gangsta rappers who advocate violence, especially toward women.

    You might also work on cleaning up your own act, too.

    Robert A. Heinlein, a Science Fiction author was VERY pro-gun. He believed everyone should carry a weapon at all times, partly because “an armed society is a polite society.” So, he and Mr. Biden have slightly different opinions on what would reduce the “coarsity of American culture.” I would believe Mr Heinlein much sooner than I would Mr. Biden.

    Coming from Biden, he of the “Big f*ing deal” comment, and the truth that his big, coarse mouth is usually full of his foot (when the former is not wrapped around something hard and round in the English language), that’s a big laugh.
    This guys example of leadership starts with his nose up against his leaders bum and snorting “forward!”. Simple fact is, I’ve never, EVER, considered using my guns for violent purposes. Until these two came along and have done their best to convince me that as a law-abiding citizen of long standing, maybe I shouldn’t be.

    I know this sounds pretty drastic, but it would solve the big problem we have. If all the secret service personal protecting Obama Bin Laden were to wipe him out they would be heroes like Seal Team Six. Problem solved. Biden would run for the hills and a lot of those suck ups of Obama would hit the road too. Oh I know, that’s not nice, just a thought.
