WalMart Suspends Ammo Orders Pending Gun Control Decision

WalMart reportedly has stopped selling ammunition ahead of the Obama administration’s anticipated gun control recommendations to Congress — and uncertainty over what new laws may be coming.

According to the Investment Watch blog, WalMart Corporation will no longer place new ammunition orders pending “the upcoming decision on the Second Amendment.”

A customer stood with a WalMart employee as a call was made to the corporate office.

    Shop locally, support local merchants, even if it costs more. Walmart won’t really feel the difference, but you will be doing the patriotic thing by stocking up on guns and ammo from people you can trust. Dig in and prepare, folks, this is going to get ugly.

    I do not understand why everyone is concerned with a Presidential EO. Obama does not have that authority and if he takes it-it needs to be completely ignored. It’s unconstitutional. And Obama is NOT a King. We grant him only Executive power! He is bound by his Oath of office which states he will preserve the Constitution-not rewrite it!

      He didn’t have the authority to give the illegals amnesty. He did it anyway. Nobody stopped him. Congress didn’t file the articles of impeachment. They went along with it. This is how dictatorships form.

    This is Not only walmart. ALL sport stores are running out. The manufac. can’t make it fast enough, as ALL orders are on back-order. Have friends with shooting ranges and retail, can’t get ammo. The stuff has been flying off shelves..and the ranges the last 6 mos. have been covered up. This is for real. Semper Fidelis

    Regardless of what happens, I will not shop at my New York Walmart for a full year starting today. On January 14, 2014, I will assess the situation and decide at that time on whether to continue to shop elsewhere for subsequent years. We’ve gotta start hitting all those complicit with unconstitutional behavior where it hurts the most– In their wallet. Needless to say, Democrat and Republican voters who care for the constitution should band together to vote down all politicians who are working to ween us off the 2nd amendment completely. That’s all this 7 round mag business is, next it will be 3 round mag and then 1 round mag and then they’ll take the guns away.

    I just spoke with an associate at Walmart’s Corp. office. They said the rumor is NOT TRUE. They are still selling & ordering Ammo and guns. They apologized for not having much stock and are working to find ammo from other sources. — I do agree that “IF” this turns out to be a lie and IF they fold in the face of an out of control Govt. —then we should all boycott. I believe there are enough gun owning customers to hurt their bottom line and change their mind… IF we need to. Relax & Stay tuned folks.

    I dont buy from Walmart anyways on ammo, there is not a difference on price so who cares. If they want to cater to the Govt then I can shop Target and Kroger. All that means is less crowds for me.

    I always buy my ‘ammo from small gunshops or as a last resort Bass Pro as there is one locally. Otherwise i do my own hand loading, whichis not only a gret hobby but also a way to fly below the radar of the obama snoops. With this executiv order crap about to hit and here in New york our wonderful carpet bagger gov, the return of a coumo is contemplating doing something similar along with truly draconian gun laws. I ran across an email from the Tea Pasrty with a link to constitutional sheriff’s org. It is a letter that van be downloaded send it to your friends in all counties and send signed copies to the local sheriff to find out if he is with us in protecting the Second Amendment or with Obama and destroying it. The first shot’s have already been fired in this monumental struggle to retain our Republic and the Constitution that sets it apart from all other nation’s on this earth. Stand with us or bow and lick the hand that feeds you as the chains tighten around your neck’s for your subgugation into slavery

      I tried to buy a box of 50 in 38 Special, 158 grain Round Nose Lead about two years ago at a local gun shop / shooting range and I just couldn’t bring myself to spend $29.00 for it. I’ll give WalMart credit for having the lowest local ammo prices over the years.

      I remember when wallymart used to advertise and brag their stores only carried American made products. It was not long before that changed. Maybe some picket lines at the entrance to wallymart parking lots would be in order for reeducation purposes. If my wallymart is like most, I believe I can safely say the majority of their customers are gun owners.

    The article said Walmart will not be placing new orders for ammo. I bought ammo today. They are still selling it they just will not buy any more.
