Piers Morgan’s Solution to Gun Violence: “I’d Remove Every Gun in America”

On Monday, Research Director of the Independence Institute David Kopel appeared on CNN’s Piers Morgan Tonight to debate the issue of gun-related violence with Piers and Josh Horwitz from the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence.

In the video below, you can see the debate unfold. What’s most telling in this exchange is Morgan’s admission that he, personally, would like to “Remove every gun in America.”

Of course, what preceded this statement only seconds earlier was the perfunctory disclaimer, which is often made by those who secretly wish to pass onerous gun laws, “I do have a respect for the Second Amendment.”

    Nice to see Mr. Morgan is willing to invest in his own servitude. If the government has the sole monopoly on force, then they will use it for government purposes, whether they be ill or good. The only reason they have not sought to confiscate every gun is because every action in this regard will be hotly contested. After all, this is America. Molon Labe, G-man.       People like Morgan are the exact reason that America was established. Initial immigrants fled England to get away from total government control, taxation, and religious persecution. Morgan is not welcome here, but stays because no other country offers everyone the chance to become wealthy and be free. Let’s do as Tom Selleck, in Quigley Down Under, says, run the misfits out of our country, send them back to England (and Mexico, and Africa, and the Middle East)!

      Actually, although England is unarmed, it is FAR from crime-free! Many Brits are telling us to NEVER let the government deprive us of our arms. This is because the crime rate has shot UP tremendously since that happened in ’96 (I believe that was the year)! IN addition, they have a massive alien immigrant influx to deal with. The British police have decided to become armed,in most cases, but their response time is still lagging!

    The result was an astronomical increase in armed crimes.
