Call volume shuts down FBI’s firearm background checks, stops Maine sales on Black Friday

Sometime early on Black Friday, the FBI’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System, or NICS, went down and stopped all gun sales, Bangor-area gun dealers said.

High call volumes caused “intermittent outages” in the system, an FBI spokesman confirmed Friday afternoon.

“It means we can’t sell no damn guns,” Rick Lozier, a manager at Van Raymond Outfitters in Brewer, said at about 1:15 p.m.

I smell a rat. How easy would it be for the Obama regime to intentionally stop the background checks on a black friday knowing that a lot of folks were shopping for that special gun to buy for themselves while the prices were lower for the holiday sale. Or could it be that the FBI folks that were supposed to do the checks were home themselves shopping on the day? Not many Government offices were open on Friday and if they were, you can bet it was with a small staff.

High volume sales shows that Americans understand why the 2nd Amendment was instituted in the first place: to protect ourselves against a tyrannical government. Period.
