14 States Now Opposing Concealed Carry Permit Restrictions

Kansas has become the fourteenth state to join in support of the U.S. Constitution’s Second Amendment, agreeing that a person does not need to show why they want a permit to carry their firearm concealed.

In a case before the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond, Virginia Kansas has been added to the list of states which oppose requiring those who apply for concealed carry permits to provide a reason for carrying concealed. Attorney General Derek Schmidt confirmed the addition on November 15.

The court is reviewing a decision by a Maryland district court which struck down a Maryland requirement that a person had to provide a reason for needing to carry their firearm concealed before a permit would be issued.

That’s one good thing we have here in Nevada…we are a “will issue” state, meaning there has to be a valid reason for denying a CCW.

    • Billy Hill

      Pennsylvania is a”shall issue”state,pass the background check,you get a permit.A plus is,Pa has a reprocity agreement with 35 states.

  • CaptTurbo

We have a lawless government subverted and controlled by Marxists. That should be reason enough for everyone everywhere.

  • Nikita63

I am elderly and disabled but passed all requirememnts for a license to carry. I will not surrender my right to self defense. I am from a state where Marxism is rampant and would move out if I could but, I am native born and WILL PROTECT MYSELF AND FAMILY AND ALL I HAVE EARNED IN MY LIFETIME AS THAT IS MY LAWFUL RIGHT. The state in question? The people’s Republic of Massachusetts, although of late, we do not know for sure which PEOPLE they are speaking of, Certainly not native born or legally naturalized CITIZENS.,You must be an illegal alien to be treated fairly here as our governor Deval (Obama clone) Patrick just authorized free tuition to the 29 state run colleges and universities, but, not for those AVERAGE CITIZENS OF EITHER LEGAL CATEGORY!

    • Winston

Agree with you. Both the Democrats and Republicans have turned against We the People and this must change or our nation will be lost and overrun. Cultural plurality has destroyed all great world nations from within.

      • Nikita63

Multi-culturalism is the “Great cultural hope,” of the UN, but, it has failed wherever it has been tried and, it has made it much easier for radical fundmental Militant Islam to infiltrate the
governments of Europe and the UN, affecting long standing legal and and cultural historic traditions. We do not need that here but it is obvious that this administration in particular, with a Muslim sympathetic president who probably practices and has placed Muslims in high cabinet positions, resulting in Christian and other faith based persecutions in violation of the freedom of Religion rights we all share, HAS DONE SO! This is not the only abrogation of Constitutional compliance as our rights to free speech, assembly and the right to keep and bear arms are also under constant attack and Congress does nothing. The time is coming when I fear, THE PEOPLE OF THIS COUNTRY, WILL!

        • mugato

How are present day Christians persecuted?

          • Nikita63

Unless you have been living in a cave since 9/11, you had to have noticed the increases persecution of Evangelical Christians concerning THEIR reiligious views of the definition of marriage which by the way is defined in the DOMA passed into law in 1996 by none other than that sublime paragon of virtute, Bill; Clinton. The open Atheist attacks on celebration of Christmas and the destruction of manger or Nativirty scenes, the continual efforts of the Muslim Brotherhhood and CAIR along with Obama’s attacks on the views of the Roman Catholic churc and their views that life takes place at conception violates their religious and moral beliefs and are unconstitutional but then, so is this whole administration. WHY? Because not a single Pope has ever supported a Socialist form of government and Catholicism has always been dead set against it. THAT’s why! If he can divide the Church as he has the Country, we will be an utterly depraved and Godless society within the next few decades and, once established, only a revolution will rid us of it. If you value your freedoms, now is the time to oppose all things Obama, while still you can. Before the next presidential election, he and his progressives and Marxists will endeavor to assure a third term , wait and see. Even groups like the Mennonites and the Amish are being driven asunder by the changing mores of the imposition of such policies on THEM! There are series devoted to it such as Amish Mafia and Breaking Amish , describing the struggles to maintain time honored tradition and religious and moral values possessed by such groups whose youth and therefore whose FUTURES, are being compromised by the governmenmt whose Constitutional duty it is to PRESERVE them under the Bill of rights! Any other Queston? While we are at it: Are you aware that there is a battle ongoing in the Senate over the NDAA’s suspension of your 6th asmendment rights to due process and equasl protection under the law. These provisions are stricken and you can be held under the new strictures for no reason for an indefinite period and imprisoned without either legal representation or any other protections without a criminbasl charge. This is a clear violation of the constitutrion and the Bill of Rights and, EVERY AMERICAN CITIZEN SHOULD BE CONCERNED ABOUT THIS!

          • mugato

Same sex marriage does not persecute Christians. Honestly, same sex marriage doesn’t affect anyone but those who are actually getting married. Maybe you should just admit you are homophobic. Also, the Pope has no business supporting any government. Also, the Amish are a poor example of to use. Their inability to change has caused problems with their youth, not a political party. Finally, you wrote 392 words on a post asking how Christians are being persecuted. I have two things about those 392 words. Maybe you should relax a bit and in those 392 words you really didn’t answer my original question. So, I’m just going to say it. Christians are not being persecuted.

          • Nikita63

That is your opinion. mine is as valid as yours. Do not deny me the right to express it or even suggest it. There are liberties this government has taken in violation of the constitution and accompanying issues over requiring taxation, making you seek permission to improve your own bought and paid for land or other property, tax your labor unfairly and continue to spend profligately to the tune of a current but growing 16 trillion dollars, transfer the taxation you pay to their party parasites in order to remain in power, fraudulently register voters and intimidate voters, requires control of YOUR children and their education, encourages human sacrifice because unplanned children are a nuisance for which no one wishes to take individual responsibility, and then forbids or tries to amend the ten commandments, what do you call that government: Try calling it what it is: MASTER! An armed man is a citizen: an disarmed man is a SUBJECT! THE FOUNDING FATHERS had it right in assuring a clear and unequivocal RIGHT to citizens to keep and bear arms. This government; despite it’s sworn oath to defend and uphold that right, are trying mightily to END it by foreign treaty with the UN. To me and many others, that is an act of TREASON. THE AMENDEMENT READS AS FOLLOWS, ALL, OF IT: ” A WELL REGULATED MILITIA,BEING NECESSARY TO THE SECURITY OF A FREEE STATE, THE RIGHT OF THE PEOPLE TO, KEEP AND BEAR ARMS SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED.”Nothing could be more clearly stated than that. It is our right and no matter what you state: Christians and others ARE having THEIR religious freedoms denied to them. When jewish students in Brookline Ma are required to participate in a Muslim prayer ceremony, THEIR religious rights are violated. It has happened and it is NOT an isolated incident. In the end, all that may keep us free IS the 2nd Amendment, and theose who framed the Constitution foresaw it!

          • mugato

Wow! You sir are unhinged. I’m going to go out on a limb and say your bantering didn’t begin until sometime around November 2008. I know, I know, Obama is the devil and I’m liberal trash. Never mind responding, it’s probably not worth it.

          • Nikita63

You described have yourself and your hero afequately. I will agree with the assessment but, it is the last response you will get. You mock everything you do not understand; like most of your persuasion IIhave met. To try for civil discourse with the like is a waste of time, breath and effort.

          • mugato

You are probably correct. I am most likely unable to converse civilly with insanity.,

Arizona has had an open carry law for many, many years; no permit required! Per the Second Amendment, no CHL should be required, anywhere. Texas, when it instituted its CHL laws, voided citizen’s rights by allowing private businesses to decide when and where you could carry a concealed firearm. Those businesses should had no say in that matter, only the State should have made certain restrictions on where and when you can carry, and those restrictions should have been severely restricted, i.e. federal property, where alcohol is sold / served, and schools. Even those restrictions need to be further defined. Military personnel, active, reserve and retired should be allowed to carry on federal property. Now federal, state and local law enforcement can not carry in many places! As a Law Enforcement Officer, I have been denied my right to carry at the local Social Security Office!…

    • richard

Yeah when they first passed the law in Texas the signs went up everywhere, I would go into a business that has a “legal” sign, and if the sign doesn’t comply with the legal notice requirements, well they can whistle in the dark. Interesting thing, the law deals with sale and consumption of alcohol as the business has to receive more than 50% of it’s revenue from the sale of alcohol, and must then post a sign saying “51%” in plain view. So at confience stores, aka stop and robs, you see signs saying the possision of a firearm by an UNLICENSED person is a felony. The law does address the consuption of alcoholic beverages by a CHL holder while armed as a violation of the law.

    • Winston

It’s not only guns which are disallowed in Social Security offices, but any weapon period… boot knives included. If the government had noting to fear from the people then this would not be necessary. They created the environment…just like working conditions in the Post Office created “going postal”.

  • richard

Oh that is gonig make the leaders of the People’s Republic of Maryland very unhappy if that is struck down, I now live in Texas and no problem at all getting a carry license.

  • dad666

States have no authority to regulate concealed carry. The second ammendment was brilliantly made simple, straight forward and clear. No citizen shall be prohibited from the ownership of a weapon.
Our founding fathers knew that in the future some would be dictator would try to eliminate and thus control our society. They were very clear in their intent to see that the citizens retained their irrevocable right to keep and BEAR arms. They further granted that these rights were not a subject for state interference when they stipulated that the states had the right to any other areas of law that the FEDERAL CONSTITUTION didn’t already address therefore the states and cities that have written all these laws concerning a citizens ability to own, posess, and CARRY are in direct volation of the second ammendment and are illegal. The Bull of permits, training courses and the like are just ways for the states to make more money attempting to regulate something they have no authority over. End it now and begin to really enforce the constitution. If we don’t Obozzo and his would be dictators will attempt to seize all the weapons and rule this once great nation.

  • Winston

Concealed carry should be the norm, because open carry leaves too much room for crazed people to see and take the weapon from someone then do harm to innocent people. Open carry is more appropriate for long barrel guns. I also agree with CaptTurbo’s comment. When the government turns on the people, then it is time to push back to regain control of what has been taken from us…liberty and freedom…and overtaxation. Instead of expanding taxation and cutting “necessary” military spending, Congress should seriously evaluate and cut back on entitlements.

    • mugato

What liberties, freedoms and over taxation are you referring to? We, the citizens of the US, are the least taxed nation. As for liberties and freedoms, I can’t think of one that has been taken these past 4 years.

  • armydadtexas

This administration looks more and more like a Stalinist Government every dad. Disarming US citizens won’t be as easy as they think. This regime best be careful about overstepping thier CONSTITUTIONAL authority. This is not Europe and we as citizens WON’T abide by the United Nations and their dictatorial rules

  • http://www.dauntlessposst.com DouglasDauntless

The Politicians always work for the criminal against the people.Another reason is the Politicians have to control the people, control is power, and power by the politicians means no freedom for the people and tons of money for them, through any means they can put to a vote, that means their cut of all the dope money that is collected in their state, city, county, and in the Federal Government.

  • ebboone

Infringe – violate, transgress, encroach, trespass. “The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed” are the words used in the Second Amendment to describe how the security of a free state is to be protected. That any judge, having accepted an oath or affirmation to uphold the US Constitution, could render a decision infringing on that constitutionally protected right suggests such a judge is unfit for the office he or she holds.

  • DAVID PEACOCK

we the people have a REASON;; IT IS CALLED THE 2nd Amendment;;placed in the Constitution to protect us from obama types……….

  • Vic Bailey

The DemocRATic Socialist Party needs to be disbanned! All bad things must come to an end! They Don’t believe in the Constitution, The Bill of Rights, or individual rights, but they do believe in Socialist strong arm Unions and them being Royality, when they are supposed to be working for us! Throw the BASTARDS OUT! Semper Fi.

  • mickey

Here’s another case pertaining to what’s UNITED about the so called “UNITED STATES”? Why is it that you can legally carry a pistol (which is our right), in one state, but you cros a line into another state, and all of a sudden you’re considered an “ILLEGAL CARRY?” What is UNITED about our states??? It is our right to carry, if you did everything legally, you should be left alone, not harrassed by any police.
