Installing Windmills Doesn’t Make the Wind Blow

A tweet from the Department of Energy (DOE) gives a link to a DOE webpage highlighting a graph from, and giving a link to, a study by the American Wind Energy Association.

Skipping the question of how appropriate it is for the DOE to flack for an advocacy organization, we can address the topic: the rapid growth of wind-energy installation.

For years, wind advocates have been bragging about the growth of installed wind-power capacity, which they compare to other energy sources. What they rarely (if ever) talk about is production.

LOL, it’s amusing to see articles about libs complaining about windmills ‘causing weather change’ in the country side. Seems they think the air gets all stirred up and won’t settle out like it used to do before all these windmills began the problem.

THERE HAS BEEN WIND MILLS ALL OVER THE PARRIE FOR YEARS TO PUMP WATER OUT OF THE GROUNG FOR THE STOCK AND THERE STILL ARE WIND MILLS.THEY HAVEN’T DONE ANYTHING TO CHANGE ANY WEATHER YET AND WON’T.
THEY DON’T STUR ENOUGH AIR TO RAISE A COTTEN BALL OFF THE GROUND LET ALONE ANY MOUNT OF DUST.
YOU LIBERAL MORANS NEED TO GET OUT IN THE PARRIE THEN YOU WILL SEE THE REAL WIND MILLS ,BY THE WAY I HAVE SOME MILLED WIND TO SELL YOU CHEAP WHILE SUPPLY LAST

Drove on I-70 from Kansas to Colorado a couple of weeks ago. Passed, by our estimate, at least 1000 windmills. Not one was turning. Drove back past them at night. Still not turning, but covered with bright red warning lights. So how much electricity does it take to run the lights on the windmills that are not producing any electricity?
