PETA wants sign to memorialize fish killed in crash

An Irvine resident is requesting that the city install a sign to memorialize the hundreds of fish killed in a traffic crash in early October as they were being taken to Irvine Ranch Market.

In the letter, Dina Kourda, on behalf of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, asks the city’s street maintenance superintendent to place the sign at the site of the crash on Walnut and Yale avenues.

The sign would read, “In memory of hundreds of fish who suffered and died at this spot,” to remind tractor-trailer drivers of their responsibility to the animals who are “hauled to their deaths every day,” according to the letter provided by PETA.

YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING! Memorialize fish killed in a traffic accident? We do less than that for ouir fighting troops overseas. We do less than that for our fire fighters and police officers. Some one please give this woman the address for Fairview State Hospital and I’ll pay for her room…….maybe!

What wacky weed has she been on? No concern for our soldiers? Get a life lady!

I trust Ervine is Ervine, California, a city and state on the verge of bankruptcy. If this nut case wants a sign she can pay for it. Only in California would some dimwit think of something like this. That she is a member of a hypocritical, inane organization such as PETA seems appropriate.

    • a

The drugs on the west coast must be really potent. And to think, she is probably an obama supporter….

  • Joe Kid

And next on your a frig’in nut job,…..the Godless DNC….!!!

  • r

They better check this woman’s medications. Or be committed to a hospital for the mentally handicapped. What about the fish I kill when I go fishing?

  • Tom K.

they must cringe when duck and deer season open; right? Do they eat fish? Have to kill them before frying….

  • Nelson

How about we memorialize the millions of babies murdered in the womb of their mothers. We put a higher value on animals than we do on human. God forgive our sins!

  • non-inbred redneck

Let the anti-PETA circle jerk commence!

  • John Fiorella

Is this a sick joke or what? It just so happens fish is very TASTY… 🙂

  • Fallschrimjaeger

This typical of peta people. What about all the animals that peta kills every day? I have my opinion of this outfit but cannot reveal it.

  • richard

Then mybe put a like sign nect to my toilet to memorize the fish I have eaten.

  • David

Problem, the fish were on their way to the market for sale. I doubt they were alive when loaded in to that truck. A sign at this location would be a misnomer!

  • hangman57

I think PETA has lost their mind.

  • Silas Longshot

From the land of the lefty loony-tunes, we bring you the fish memorial! They wanted this craziness to come out of the city budget, but surprise, there was at least one official who told them to take a hike. 0bama voters all, I suspect.

  • $5164204

This same Liberal Loon most likely supports 3000+ Abortions performed each and every day without a hint of the hypocrisy she puts forth…

I’m a card carrying member of PETA. (People Eating Tasty Animals!)

  • Esther Mae Egan

Wish I were Governor, I would let Peta and the Environmentalist know they can live in the state I would Govern but they can not say a word. I would get rid of all their stupid laws and rules and get back to since. I like the other comment that we put up signs for all the little babies killed in the womb. I also like the one about the fish fry. In fact, I would love to fry the fish on the West side of the valley and give the water back to the farmer. In fact, we could feed the homeless.

  • WesTexan

I couldn’t get to Irvine for this, but I recently memorialized a tasty blackened salmon by eating it slowly and savoring each bite. I plan on memorializing flounder later this week and maybe trout as well. I especially like to memorialize them with a little butter or malt vinegar or even tartar sauce if I’m feeling particularly pedestrian. I’m certainly not above snacking on fish and chips—in memory of—of course.

There are several million unborn children that have been murdered, especially since Roe v Wade. I would encourage Dina to raise her sights a little higher than caviar and do something that actually matters—like protecting unborn babies and memorializing those that received the death penalty for daring to be planted inside a womb—as if they had a Choice!
