Outdoor-skills workshop in Ocala National Forest geared for women

OCALA NATIONAL FOREST — Mastering the great outdoors is not just for men or hard-core survivalists.

Adventurous and outdoorsy women or any adult who wants to learn more about Florida’s diverse wilderness is invited to attend a three-day workshop starting Friday at the Ocala Conservation Center.

Though designed with women in mind, the workshop is open to people 18 and older who want to improve their outdoor skills and enjoy recreational activities in a comfortable, noncompetitive, hands-on environment. There will be classes in knot tying, deer hunting, wilderness first-aid, outdoor cooking and more
