WWII veteran who fatally shot intruder at his Kentucky farm home says he fired in self-defense

Posted on: September 6th, 2012

A 92-year-old farmer and World War II veteran who fatally shot an intruder in his Kentucky home said in an interview that he had no fear of the man and aimed “right for his heart.”

Earl Jones said he shot a man who came up the stairs and kicked open the basement door to his home early Monday in northern Kentucky’s Boone County.

Jones told The Kentucky Enquirer (http://bit.ly/PGnN0Z ) he heard a noise in his basement around 2 a.m. Monday and grabbed his .22-caliber rifle. He sat in a chair with a clear view of the door, saying he fired when the intruder burst in.

I think we should give him a medal. Its too bad he didnt shoot the others then the taxpayers wouldnt have to support them while theyre in prison

it should be reasonably obvious the guy wasnt invited in.,..therefore he was an intruder and ….got what he deserved

The intruder must have been a Demorat!! If more of these jerks met their demise, maybe the word would get around. Way to go!!!!

Probably some prosecuter sees a way to make a name for him or herself to try this man for protecting his own body and property.
