A 66-year-old Florida woman died when a stolen SUV smashed into her Jacksonville home while she was sitting on her couch watching television.

Jacksonville Sheriff’s officials say Sarah Ruth Joshua was pronounced dead at the scene Tuesday night.

The deadly incident took place at around 10pm when the driver of the Lincoln Navigator apparently lost control of the vehicle and crashed through the outside wall of Joshua’s home in the 1700 block of West 31st Street.

The stolen SUV continued through the home before coming to a stop in the backyard.

Police say Joshua’s 43-year-old nephew was in another part of the home and wasn’t injured, reported News4Jax.

The driver of the SUV fled on foot after the crash. The vehicle was reported stolen Saturday.
