Subway Employee Arrested For Spiking Officer’s Drink With An Assortment Of Drugs

LAYTON, UtahA Utah police sergeant is recovering after someone tried to poison him, officials confirmed Tuesday.

Authorities said the sergeant stopped by the Subway restaurant on Highway 193 for lunch Monday.

When he took a sip of his drink he tasted chemicals and said he knew something was wrong.

The officer said he came to a red light on his way back to the station and his body wouldn’t let him hit the brake, according to KSTU.

He made it safely back to the station and was taken to the hospital.

Authorities said the man’s drink tested positive for marijuana, THC and methamphetamine.

Sgt. Clint Bobrowski said the surveillance video from Subway shows what happened.

“The suspect was seen taking the sergeant’s order, filling his drink,” Sgt. Bobrowski said. “The suspect left the sergeant’s drink on the counter and left the picture frame. In the video you can see him returning with something in his hand and then leaning over the sergeant’s drink for an unusual amount of time. The suspect then provided the sergeant with the drink.”

Officers arrested 18-year-old Tanis Lloyd Ukena after seeing him on the surveillance video.

I love Subway. I ate it nearly every day while in college, so that basically makes me an expert on this subject.

First, I’m pretty sure the only reason this made the news was the fact that it involved a police officer. With the current anti-police climate in America, this could have been a cop-hating white guy attempting to stick it to the man for his BLM brothers.

But it’s probably more along the lines of standard operating procedure being exposed…

An employee spiking someone’s drink with a sample-bag of drugs should come as no surprise.

I would honestly be more shocked to find out that someone went to Subway and their food wasn’t spiked with a random assortment of drugs.

I don’t know what it’s like where you live, but Subways aren’t necessarily known for being the cleanest eating establishments, or for hiring the cream of the crop.

At the Subways I frequented I was happy to get out of there without having a band-aid in my Italian BMT, or getting chastised by a particular sandwich artisan each time I asked for “white American” cheese.

Nevertheless, things don’t look too good for Subway.

First Jared, now this.

Looks like it’s time for a new sandwich company to take center stage.
