PA flap could serve as warning to all gun owners

The Bellevue-based Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms fired a warning shot clear across the country to Pennsylvania early Monday morning, where the State Police are planning to – as one activist put it – “suspend the Second Amendment” later this month for what the agency says will be a 60-hour period to upgrade its fingerprint system.

The State Police will shut down PICS beginning at 10 p.m. Saturday, May 19 and not boot up again until 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 22. That will not have a direct impact on Northwest gun owners, but in the firearms community, there’s something of an unwritten code that, in laymen’s terms, says that if one group is in trouble, it’s a problem for all shooters, everywhere.
