As anti-gun activists work overtime to court moms, world shooting champion, Smith & Wesson team captain and mother of two Julie Golob has launched a firearms safety campaign of her own, Take a MOMent, just in time for Mother’s Day.
Check it out:
“No matter what side of the gun control argument you are on, learning about gun safety and having the conversation with our kids about it just makes sense,” Golob says. “With Take a MOMent I am hoping to encourage mom’s who have guns in their home to talk to their children because I believe that firearm safety awareness is a proactive and effective way to help reduce gun violence.”
Here’s more information about the project from her website:
I truly believe that, no matter if you are pro-gun or anti-gun, everyone should know and understand the basic rules of firearm safety. It is equally important for parents to have the discussion about guns and what to do if your child finds one. Both NSSF’s Project ChildSafe and the NRA’s Eddie Eagle GunSafe® Program are excellent. They offer resources for parents, educators and child care providers to help ensure kids stay safe.
